Stadium History
Estadio Azteca in Mexico City is one of the most iconic football stadiums in the world. It is the only venue to have hosted two World Cup finals (1970 and 1986) and will become the first stadium to host matches in three World Cups with the 2026 tournament. The stadium is the home of Club América and the Mexican national team, and has staged some of football's most famous moments, including Diego Maradona's 'Hand of God' goal and the 1970 Pelé-led Brazil victory.
How to Get There
Located in the Santa Úrsula neighborhood of Mexico City, the stadium is accessible by the Mexico City Metro (Tasqueña station on Line 2, with a short walk). The venue is approximately 30 minutes from Mexico City International Airport. Public transit is strongly recommended on match days due to limited parking.
