Stadium History
MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, opened in 2010 to replace the old Giants Stadium. It is the home of both the New York Giants and New York Jets NFL franchises. The stadium has hosted the Super Bowl (XLVIII in 2014) and is the venue for the 2026 World Cup final on July 19. With a capacity of 82,500, MetLife is among the largest NFL stadiums in the United States and is located in the New York metropolitan area.
How to Get There
The stadium is in the Meadowlands complex, accessible by car via the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95). NJ Transit operates direct rail service from New York Penn Station to the stadium on event days (a 20-minute ride). The stadium is approximately 15 miles from Manhattan and 30 minutes from Newark Liberty International Airport.
